The passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor we've chosen is a high quality product designed for use in commercial alarm systems. The sensor mounts easily in the corner of a room or hallway.
Depending on the size and speed of the group entering the coverage area, the PIR sensor's triggering time will vary by a second or so. This is a non-issue for the most part and only affects scares that require absolute critical timing.
Because the sensor works by detecting body heat, it is unaffected by smoke and fog machines that can confuse beam sensors.
